It is a story-driven game with a twist.
It is dark fantasy content and the grime and grit that comes with it.
It is narrative but comes with a challenge.
It has a strategic approach to deckbuilding and combat.

It is not a deck-building game only.
It does not have fast-paced card combat.

No. We have a certain scope of languages we started with based on pre-release evaluation, and we’ll gradually add languages with the upcoming updates. This process will be heavily dependent on our community and the demand for certain languages. Also, we’ll constantly polish and improve the localisation for all languages.

Not right now, but we have created little survival guide for the combat system, which will help you see what makes Magin’s combat system different and how to navigate those differences. You can find it on https://steamcommunity.com/app/1205270/discussions/0/844004758333206180/ .

Yes, there are branching decisions that change the storyline a little, but more importantly, they impact the deckbuilding aspect and influence the essence mechanic, which modifies how much time you have for further choices and how you should strategize your combats.

The answer is “Yes”. We also added Steam Cloud Saves for players who often change their gaming devices. The game autosaves each time you change a location.

Yes, before each battle, you have a chance to check out the enemy’s deck, which may come in really helpful while building your deck for this combat and planning your strategy. During the combat, you have full access to preview enemies’ and your decks as well. What is more, during encounters, enemies’ intentions are displayed next to their health bar. You can compare those intentions with the labels on enemies’ cards (accessible from the bottom right corner of the health bar) and make an educated guess about what their next turn is gonna be like, to adjust your short-term strategy.

It’s very different. We are fans of STS, but we want to be clear that we do not try to compete with STS directly. The way our card battling in “Magin” works is more like a 12-round boxing match, and not meant to be over in one decisive strike. You CAN build for that, of course, there are ways to bend and adapt your deck, but the approach in “Magin” is more focused on strategy, adaptability, and finding the way to counter a specific enemy, which is possible thanks to the freedom to modify your deck at any point in the game. However, “Magin” is also narrative-driven, so you will meet a lot of characters and will make decisions that progress the story in different ways. The main difference between “STS” and “Magin” is that the latter is not a Roguelike. One playthrough of Magin will take 6-10 hours, and that alone makes them very different experiences.

There is a free new “Magin” demo available, so if you are not sure if it's for you, feel free to try it first.
